Crusoe drops $1.25B order for 29 Boom Supersonic Superpower turbines, Boom's launch customer for its power business
On 2026-09-25 Boom Supersonic CEO Blake Scholl said in a post on X that Crusoe is no longer proceeding with its agreement to buy 29 of Boom's 42MW Superpower natural-gas turbines for about $1.25B, with deliveries that had been due to start in 2027. Crusoe had been the launch customer for the stationary-power line, which shares about 80% of parts with Boom's Symphony engine. Losing the launch order removes the largest disclosed commitment behind Boom's diversification into AI data-center power.
