Impulse Space announced on 2026-09-22 that the United States Space Force awarded it a $28 million contract to supply a Mira orbital transfer vehicle for a future Space Development Agency surveillance mission. SpaceNews reported the same day that this is a repeat Mira order from the Space Force. The award extends the Redondo Beach company's defence revenue line days after its $308M Series D extension took its latest round to $808M at a reported $5.4B valuation.

On Sept. 16, 2026, Impulse Space announced a $308M extension to its Series D, taking the round to $808M after the $500M June tranche at a $4.26B valuation. A source told Reuters the extension values the company at $5.4B; backers include existing investors 137 Ventures, BANNER VC, DFJ Growth, Linse Capital, Lux Capital and Valor Equity Partners. Impulse also named ex-Vizio CFO Adam Townsend as its first CFO and said its 2028 Caravan 2 and 3 Helios rideshare missions are sold out, lifting its private valuation about 27% in three months.
